Many students don’t realise that Writing WA is their peak body for writing in WA and they offer brilliant resources!
They provide information for writers, poets and illustrators and it costs you nothing to subscribe to their regular e-newsletters. Their news page gives up-to-date info on what’s going on in the local writing scene and upcoming writing competitions in Australia.
You can also connect with Writing WA via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.
Despite being US based, following Writer’s Digest is also a great way to keep up with industry trends and tips. Each year they compile a list of the ’101 Best Websites for Writers’ (for writers of all types) – this year marks the 16th Edition. Their site includes tips and free downloads from writers on anything ranging from ‘How to Write Historical Fiction‘ to ‘The Five Attributes of a Successful Ghostwriter.’
