Breakout workshops at the Work Ready Careers Fair

We’ve lined up a series of mini workshops during the Work Ready Careers Fair. Take a break from networking and come along to our Work Ready Zone for insights from industry professionals. Book in to the sessions that interest you, by either clicking on the workshop titles or heading over to UniHub.

11:10am – 11:25am | Roadmap to Success: How Careers, Employment & Leadership can set you on the path to greatness 

It is never too early to begin developing your employability skills.  We’re here to show you how to maximise your time at university and face graduation with more assurance that you are on the right track for a chosen career.  Come along to our information session and come away with details on how to locate the tools and skills to identify future opportunities.

11:35am – 11:50am | Camp America – Live, work and play in the USA: How cultural exchange/GAP year programs can benefit your future 

Are you looking for an adventure? Do you want to do something worthwhile with your travel? Camp America is just one program offered by AIFS Australia (American Institute for Foreign Study), that allows you the opportunity to live, work and travel around the US. Camp America is a 9-12 week program that allows you the chance to work at an America Summer Camp. CA sends over 7000 people a year to work at a summer camp in the US.

Come and find out more about how cultural exchange and taking a GAP year can boost your CV, as well as hearing about the amazing travel adventures available to you.

12:00pm – 12:15pm | PwC Australia – Trainee Program, Insight Academy and job application tips

Join representatives from PwC to get an overview of the company, including upcoming and current programs available for students. Special highlights include their Trainee Program and Insight Academy – both are programs open to students in the first year of a three year of their degree, or the second year of a four year degree.

This session is also worth attending for students looking for vacation work or students that are graduating as the presenters will give an overview of the PwC’s recruitment process.

12:25pm – 12:40pm | UniBank – Making the most of your work experience placement 

UniBank is offering work experience placements in the field of Event Management, with the aim the students will gain a holistic understanding of the event management cycle by becoming involved in the planning, implementation and evaluation process. Come along to this workshop to learn how to make the most of your placement at UniBank.

12:50pm – 1:05pm | Navitas – Boost your employability with Navitas 

Are you keen to kick start your career but finding every job is asking for local experience? If so, Navitas can help!

Join Pitcher Partners HR Manager Sandra Ursino and learn what to include and not to include in your job application so you can stand out from the crowd.

1:40pm – 1:55pm | Improving your leadership skills: How Careers, Employment & Leadership can set you on the path to greatness 

Leadership isn’t necessarily about titles and jobs, nor is it limited to people with natural charisma. It can be expressed through our everyday actions and the way we influence the lives of those around us. We’re here to show you how to develop your leadership skills to help you learn more about yourself, how you work in teams and how to make positive change in the community. Come along to the information session to find out we can help you develop these skills during your time at university.
