Looking for something a little different to include in your resume? Something that could help you stand out from the crowd? Industry related competitions could be a way to go.
These competitions are great way to develop your skills, gain experience, build your networks, and demonstrate your genuine interest in your chosen field.
One competition that has been running for more than 10 years is the AMP University Challenge. Open to part-time and full-time Australian university students, this competition is a unique opportunity to experience first-hand what it takes to succeed as a financial adviser. You’ll get to combine your technical knowledge with your communication skills in a real-world scenario.
The competition consists of two main components: a discussion paper submission and a virtual finals day. You can enter as an individual or as a team of up to three people. Oh, and did we mention the $5,000 first prize?
So, if you’re interested in a career as a financial advisor and would like the chance to demonstrate your problem-solving and financial planning prowess, now’s the time to find out more about this competition.
And if finance isn’t your chosen field, you may be able to find a competition relevant to you through industry related professional associations, larger employers within your field, student clubs or your faculty.
